PROFIBUS-DP interface integrated into low-power ARM Processor

PROFIBUS is deployed in industrial automation with more than 35 million nodes. Used in industrial automation factories as serial fieldbus interface, it connects the programmable logic controller (PLC) with I/O modules, sensors, and actuators. Most of the solutions use an external PROFIBUS ASIC or FPGA to add the PROFIBUS-DP interface to an microprocessor.
The AM1810 ARM™ Microprocessor from Texas Instruments (TI) offers a cost efficient solution by integrating the PROFIBUS-DP interface into the device. This saves cost, board space and power consumption. The video provides an introduction to the of AM1810 with integrated PROFIBUS-DP interface and the PROFIBUS-DP development platforms (EVMs) from TI.
