The success story began with Kontrons pioneering work adding PCI Express technology on small form factor boards. Back in 2004, Kontron was the first to launch a module that complies with today’s “basic” form factor. This was followed in 2006 by Kontrons modules that meet today's “compact” standard. The last in Kontrons COM Express® trio, the nanoETXexpress, was launched in 2008. It is the COM Express® module with the smallest form factor to date.
Kontron modules have always served as the foundation and first examples for the official specification. Enjoy the story in pictures.
